Limestone House or Limestone Studio, Elmton Rd, Creswell.

 

The following courses are funded by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust and are available for anyone not in work from ‘ school leaving age’ to age 65 and will run from 16/1/12 to 31/3/13, throughout this period, as follows:-

 

Information Technology/Computer Courses in Limestone House:-

Mondays:        Computers for Beginners at 10am to 12noon

                         Using Computers to Seek Work at 1pm to 3pm

Tuesdays:-      Computers for Beginners from 1.30 to 3.30pm

Wednesdays:- Training on Computers for an Open College Network qualification( level 1 or level 2) from 10am to 1pm, in Excel spreadsheets or Word Processing or Powerpoint Presentation

Thursdays:      Computers for Beginners from 10am -12noon

                         Using computers to seek work from 1pm to 3pm

Fridays:           Computers for Intermediates from 10am -12noon

                         Using Computers to Seek Work from 1pm to 3pm

Free training courses will come out to you in various Coalfield Villages

using the Limestone House Mini Bus for 4 to 6 week training courses (throughout the period above)  on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10am to 12 noon.

The training will be "Computers for Beginners".

First Aid:  on Monday 12th March 2012 from 9.30 to 4pm in Limestone Studio

 

Filming: using Video Cameras, on Wednesdays from 18/1/2012 from 1pm to 3pm

 

Introduction to Sound Engineering/Audio recording on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2.30pm

during February 2012, March 2012, May 2012,  June 2012, August 2012, September 2012,

November 2012, December 2012 and January 2013:-

Did you know:-That free Training Courses in ‘Skills for Work’ are ongoing in Limestone House and Limestone Studio, Elmton Rd, Creswell

Did you know:-That free transport to training is available, picking the learner up from home to bring them into the Creswell ECVC  Training Centres and returning them home after the training session

Training Courses available are:- Computers for Beginners, Using Computers to seek work (i.e using internet, preparing  a CV, Job Search, Job application) Computers for Intermediates Introduction to Apple Macs Introduction to Recording in the Recording Studio The courses above are ongoing and are ‘Drop-in’ Courses. You can start on any week of the course.  Generally the training is for short courses and you can ask to continue on a course if it isn’t full. Other training courses ongoing are Filming Digital photography OPEN COLLEGE NETWORK (OCN)QUALIFICATIONS IN:- Excel Spreadsheets Level 1 and Level 2 OCN Word Processing Level 1 and Level 2 OCN Powerpoint Presentation Level 1 and Level 2 OCN

Did you know:- That a free training course can be booked by contacting 01909 724061 or Mob: 07922662341 and if you need free transport to training please mention this when booking your course.  You will be advised by letter about the course you are booked on also you will be contacted about transport to training one the transport is confirmed.

Did you know:- That there is a ‘Drop-in’ Computer Suite with free access to Internet in Room 7 at Limestone House. You can book a Computer by phoning 01909 724061 or call in and ask the Volunteer at the Till Desk to book a Computer in Room 7 for you on the day or on a future date .

LEARNING CHAMPIONS are based in Limestone House:- Daphne Row, Russell Martin and Julie Holling are available to assist you if you have any concerns which may affect you attending your training  course or  progressing into further training or moving into work or getting to work.  Ask at the Limestone House office if you wish to talk to a Learning Champion and this will be organised quickly.

ADVISORY SERVICES are based in Limestone House:- Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Representative on Thursdays from 1pm to 3.30pm for Benefit and Housing concerns. FAMILY EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE on Tuesdays to Fridays for advice on Training and employment ALCOHOL ADVISORY can be contacted through Limestone House office to arrange for you to meet a representative. CHESTERFIELD LAW CENTRE can be contacted through Limestone House office if you need an appointment

Elmton & Creswell Village Company do offer an opportunity for Volunteering and Work Experience in their shop(s) or office
