Community and Visitors receive a warm welcome in Limestone House-- so the group of friends say. They come into Limestone House Heritage Café every Friday morning and they told the chairman Julie Holling that it is because it has such a clean, pleasant and friendly atmosphere. They say they come in to meet their friends, have a chat, have a coffee, ‘put the world to rights’ and have a laugh and they can also get a bargain in Limestone House. They feel they are supporting Limestone House for the regeneration work they do in the Community. Barbara Radford told Julie that she came into Limestone House when it opened in July 2004 ‘on day one’ with her husband Roy, in 2004, and that she has continued to come in each week. Irene Marsh and Barbara Longbottom have recently attended and enjoyed the 4 week Computer for Beginners class for Senior Citizens and said would like to attend more courses to advance the modern day skills they have learned.

Jimmy Wells, a Trustee of Elmton & Creswell Village Company based at Limestone

House, attended the 2011 National Biffawards ceremony- ‘Celebrating our Local Heroes’ at the London Transport Museum, Covent Garden on 3/11/11. The Village Company had received a small grant from Biffa in 2010 for some refurbishment at Limestone House and was one of 60 organisation who had applied for the 2011 Biffaward . The Village Company received an invitation for a representative to attend the Ceremony as they were placed in the final 3 organisations selected who may win the award and the winner would be announced at the Ceremony. Julie Holling was delighted with the news that the Elmton & Creswell Village Company came second in the small grants category for the work they do for their community and locality.

Free Training Courses are delivered in Limestone House (subject to receiving funding for Tutors). Enquiries can be made at the Reception/Till Desk with regard to current or future courses or phone the office on 01909 724061 for more information.
