ECVC"s training programme, which has largely been delivered to our local community, has now been extended - via support from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust - to the districts of Bolsover, North East Derbyshire and Mansfield. Training is a major way out of deprivation,  increasing employability, enhancing the prospects of those in employment and stimulating business development.

We changed our courses to make them more flexible and therefore accessible to people. We have started continuously running corses to which individuals can attend when they have the need and opportunity. We currently offer courses in the following topics:

  • Capacity Building for obtaining employment (customer services and teamwork, CV preparation, job search, job application forms, mock interview).
  • IT based topics known to be valued by employers (computer use, Internet and Email skills,Excel, Desktop publishing).
  • Multimedia training in techniques essential in business - digital image processing, web page development, production of promotional material, CDs and DVDs, use of Apple Mac computers, sound recording, digital photography and filming. We have developed a speciality in Multimedia Training as this technology is central to the development of British industry.

Where appropriate, training will be accredited with the Open College Network, levels 1-3.
