A CIRCUS OF ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
The objective is to expand the horizons and raise aspirations of local children by encouraging non-scholastic activities after school.
Currently we are using the Limestone House Studio to involve children from the Creswell infant and junior schools in multimedia activities. This is primarily a play activity but it in passing expands their knowledge of IT and multimedia possibilities, by giving them the opportunity to use technology not available in school or, usually, at home. These sessions take place are now running until the end of June and are supported by a very welcome grant from the Derbyshire Community Foundation. .
During School Term Time "Brass Tuition" takes place at the Creswell Junior School from 3.15 to 4.15 pm; there is a strong brass band tradition in Creswell and these sessions help to ensure its continuance.
For infants,"Table Top Games" takes place in the Hall at the Creswell C. O. E Infant School every Wednesday from 3.05pm to 4.05pm. Parents of young people wanting to join in these activities should contact Limestone House (01909 724 061), to arrange for consent forms to be completed.
Creswell Village Forum is a partner in these after school activities
